The 21000 series from Bently Nevada are heavy-duty proximity probe housing/assembly systems designed for mounting proximity (eddy-current) probes on rotating

 machinery in industrial applications. They enable external access for gap adjustment or probe replacement without full machine disassembly.

1. Does this assembly include the proximity probe itself?

In this specific variant (“00” in the probe option slot) it appears that the probe is not included (“Probe not required”). So it may be just the housing

assembly configured for a certain penetration depth, fittings, thread, etc. You will need to separately procure the compatible

 probe (for example the 3300 XL series) if required.



2. What is “probe penetration” and why is it important?

A: Probe penetration is the depth the probe tip (or the probe sleeve) extends into the machine housing so that the sensor

tip sits at the correct position relative to the target shaft or rotor. If penetration is incorrect, the probe gap and

measurement accuracy may be compromised. The ordering scheme lets you specify penetration depth

in increments (e.g., 0.1 in increments) for correct geometry.



3. What mounting threads and mechanical constraints should I check?

A: For the 21000 aluminum housing variant, if you use a standoff adapter (C option not “00”), mounting

thread must be “02” (3/4-14 NPT). The body is aluminum with stainless steel sleeve; typical

weight ~1.1kg without fittings. The housing must be mounted securely to

ensure good probe coupling and minimal distortion.
